Operating system not found. What do I do?

I turned on my laptop, HP, and while it was trying to boot up I saw the error "operating system not found". I'm am actually on my laptop now and it works, but it took forever to load up. It went to a black screen with the cursor blinking for a while then it loaded windows.

I don't know if it's the bios has an problem or something that's causing my computer to not load properly. sometimes it just freezes at the startup and doesn't even go tot he black screen. I usually just do a hard reset several times before it works or it doesn't work and I just give up.

So, I really don't want to turn my computer off because I'm afraid that I can't get it to load up again. What do I do? I've been to several forums but I'm not sure what to do still. I don't think any hardware is loose otherwise I wouldn't be able to load my windows and type this question. Could it be a registry error? I really am thinking that it has to be an error with bios, but I don't know. What do I do?

Windows is your problem, Windows is every ones problem, Once windows users admit that to themselves then they will be able to get on with their computer life, and switch to another faster more stable and secure operating system,

Windows is not the only operating system available to computer users there are many free operating systems with all the application software, also free, Did you know Google do a free operating system called chrome, Intel have a free operating system called Mobiln. and then there are many other Linux operating systems to pick from, You need to check these other operating systems out, They will be releasing their now 2010 versions at the end of this month. Linux Operating systems are upgraded twice a year, not every 5 years like Microsoft,

Laptop fan loud/runs all the time?

I have a compaq Evo N620c, its fan makes a loud noise, also it runs alot, more like all the time, even if i am running simple applications, or just doing minimal tasks. I am wondering if this is normal for the fan to work alot like that and if I can do anything to reduce the time the fan is working
i usually leave it working all the day, when i dont need it i just put it on standby, i never turn if off or hibernate it during the day..don't know if this has anything to do with it.

If it's running that often, then the processor is running hot enough for the fan to NEED to run that often. You might try cleaning dust out of the bottom if there is any, and replacing the thermal paste on the CPU if (and ONLY if) you have the technical knowledge to do so.
