This is recorded on my Dell INSPIRON 9100

CPU: Pentium 4 HT Prescott 3.2GHz ,1MB L2 ,800MHz FSB, socket 478
RAM: 1MB DDR400
GFX: ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 128MB, soon to be ATI 9800 256MB
HDD: 60GB 7200rpm

The motherboard's max. supported cpu speed is 3400MHz.The computer runs 100% stable at 3.5GHz ,but will only handle light loads at 3.6GHz ,recording and encoding this into mpeg at the same time wasn't a light load ,so I just touched 3.6GHz because it was getting late didn't want to have to reboot my system again just to do this(only doing this because I was super bored) ,this is just to show you can easily overclock dells or any computer for that matter through windows ,this overclock was done without changing voltage or any other setting apart from bus speed (fsb) and was done with standard cooling .There is not noticeable in the temperature when overclocking over longer period of time.

This was overclocked using a free program for download, CPUFSB vers 2.2.18

For the 9100 choose manufacturer ASUS and mainboard type P4C800

If you want to use other programs the PLL for the 9100 is ICS 952607

The recording is of CPU-Z 1.46

How do you lock touchpad on Dell laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to lock the touchpad for typing.

Found the second answer on the internet, haven't tried myself as don't want to reboot at the moment. Presumed lock = disable.

Or you could try to go to start - control panel - mouse and check out the settings in there. Might include the touch pad in the settings or tabs.

---
First, turn on (or restart) your computer. When the Dell logo comes up
press F2 to open the bios setup program.

Press Alt-p three times to get to page 4. Near the middle of the
screen you should see an option called Pointing Device. Change it from
Touch Pad - PS/2 Mouse to just PS/2 Mouse (this should work fine for
your USB mouse). Then press ESc to exit the bios, making sure to save the changes.

Read about more Dell problems at http://dell-problems.blogspot.com/

If your computer is experiencing any of the problems that are seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBEEojCyWgQ (blue screen, freezing, restarting, not starting, and etc.)

Directions:
Remove the lid on the bottom of your laptop. Then remove on the RAM modules, and close the lid; turn your laptop on to see if it now functions properly. If this has no effect on it, put back in the RAM module, and remove the other one. Test it again to see if it now works. If it still does not work, then your problem might be a software (not a hardware) problem.

Remember to wash your hands before doing this and be gentle with the technology inside your computer.

You also might notice that the computer runs slower with only one RAM module. I would recommend you order another RAM module. However, I do not think using just one RAM module affects your lap top negatively.

NOTE: I did not figure this out by myself; a friend (who would like to remain anonymous) recommended I try this.
