I'm looking at purchasing a new dell laptop, but I don't want to pay the 1,800$ price of an Alien. Can somebody help me out and let me know if these can play high graphic games as well?
absolutely, the newer stuff is getting better for things like that, it may not be as great of graphics as the high end stuff but it isnt terrible.

i install the path 1.0.4 and the nvidia drivers 186.03 and now i could play gta 4 on max resolution with a very good.

dell precision m6300 laptop
c2d 2x2,6ghz 6mb cache
nvidia quadro fx 3600m 512mb ddr3 256bit (8200-8500 3dmark06 points at 1280x1024) actually 8474 with 186.03
4g ram (3,5 becouse i have windows vista sp1 32bits)
200g 7200rpm
resolution screen 1920x1200 (1200p)
gta 4 settings:
1920x1200 (60hz)
med textures
no reflections
high water
high shadows

On a Dell, like HP, there is a dedicated hidden part of your hard drive that contains an image of your computer's hard drive contents from the factory. This can be used to quickly restore your system to it's factory state in minutes, making it great when pressed for time.
Unlike HP however, Dell also gives you full copies of Windows Vista or XP on a CD/DVD, a Drivers CD and provides the disks for any additional software you requested to be installed on your computer, like Microsoft Office, Norton Antivirus, etc.
You should not format or, store additional data on the recovery partition D: Drive
Here are instructions from Dell on how to use it. If for some reason you can not use the recovery partition. You will need the recovery disks. These either came with your computer or, you made them when it was new. Dell allows you to order one set per machine for free.
