When I open my laptop to get a wireless connection, it seems to disable my dsl modem. Even the hardwired computer I have hooked up to the modem loses connectivity to the internet? What could be the issue? It is a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Vista. Thanks.

check the modem settings..

How can I connect my desktop to my laptop to use my laptops wireless capabilities?

I pick up a wireless signal from my neighbor on my laptop. I want to set up a network between my desktop and laptop that will allow me to use the wireless connection. I heard you can do it with a crossover cable but have not had any luck. Can it be done? Also , if you are wondering why I want to do this, It is because I cant afford to pay for the internet right now, and I have a company laptop that I am not allowed to surf and play games on.

Go out and get a wireless card and install it on you desktop and you can use that network. Hopes this helps
