How do i find out wat wireless card i have in my dtk laptop?
If you have windows, go to the start menu and right click the "My Computer" icon and click properties.
From there, there should be a button that says "Device manager", its on one of the tabs if you have xp or on the top right if you have vista.
Go down to "network adapters" and expand the menu, your wireless card should be listed there. If it is not listed, then you either
A. don't have a wireless card, or B. the drivers are not installed and you should search the internet for them.

my dad has a laptop with a centrino duo 1.66ghz and im getting a laptop with a core 2 duo 1.8ghz whats faster?

The mother boards are different on them and the graphics are different.
If im correct the cs290j has the better mother board and graphics. Overall they run just about the same.

Due to a broken lcd screen, I am changing it out with another one i bought. My laptop is a lenovo thinkpad t61. However, when i hooked up the new screen and turned on my laptop i can't see anything. The screen lights up, but it remains black.
Therefore, I am wondering is if is possible that a laptop that had an xga screen be compatible with a wxga screen (the one i bought is wxga 14.1 inch)? thanks alot.

It is PROBABLE that the WXGA screen you purchased for your laptop is incompatible with the Thinkpad t61 that you bought. Did your laptop originally have a WXGA+ (1440x900 resolution) or a WXGA (1280x800 resolution)? You need to make sure that the screen you replace the broken one with, is an exact replacement. That model was not supposed to come with an XGA (1024x768 resolution) screen.
