Im just wondering if anyone can offer any advice. Im looking to replace the hard drive on a Compaq Presario 2500 notebook and ive a downloaded service manual and from what i can see it a case of undoing a couple of screws and sliding it out. The drive seems reluctant to come out and before i put any force behind it i just wanted to check incase i was maybe missing a screw or release catch somewhere and was wandering if anyone here had replaced one and how easy it was?

You can update your driver from the device manager, or reinstall the driver from the CD supplied with your notebook. I prefer the second choice because the driver supplied is always the best match for your notebook. But if the problem continuous, then you should consider re-format your notebook.
